Meet the Author:
Love, laughter and the chaos in between
Hello there!
I’m Natalia and you might be wondering how I (and now you!) ended up here. Before I was navigating the maze of modern dating apps and first-date awkwardness, I was knee-deep in weddings (yes, lame proposal pun). I proudly started my professional career as a Wedding Planner, and I’ve helped over 600 couples celebrate their love. It was a dream job for me because, at the heart of it, I’m a diehard believer in love.
This said, while I was there to make sure the flowers were perfect, and the bride made it down the aisle on time, in the lead up to the big day I often found myself doubling as a relationship therapist. From helping couples navigate family drama, suggesting ways to compromise, and encouraging open communication, having seen love up close and personal for years has made me incredibly particular in my own dating journey.
So here I am - still dating, but not without a whole lot of funny, crazy, and at times downright weird stories to share. I’ve been on nearly a thousand first dates (yes, you read that right), and people always ask me how I find the energy for that. Honestly? It’s because yes, I love a good laugh, and the dating scene in Adelaide for better or worse provides a treasure trove of experiences, but ultimately… I believe in love. That belief fuels my energy, helps me dust myself off after a less-than-ideal date, and keeps me swiping right on this wild adventure.
These are the moments I have shared with my girlfriends over wine (and now with you) - from bizarre pick-up lines to the kind of first dates you’d only believe if you’ve been on them, this blog is your front-row seat.
But it’s not just about the laughs… it’s also about the lessons. Every date, whether it’s a disaster or a success, has taught me something new, and there have been many valuable lessons along the way – best of all, the ability to always see the silver linings.
If you’re in the trenches of modern dating (or just looking for a good laugh), welcome to my little corner of the internet where I embrace it all - awkward moments, funny stories, and share that despite the man-drought in Adelaide, all hope is not lost.
Here's to love, laughter, and the chaos in between.
With humour and heart,
Natalia xx
